This article should have a history section because the only sections are functionality and notable recordings. Also, who the heck deleted all of the references that I had to revert. I think easily the biggest problem with this article is that it seems to mostly rely on original research, personal observations and anecdotes from others as opposed to citeable and reliable sources, which is what Wikipedia wants per WP:ORIGINAL. While I do understand that there is a very frustrating lack of sources discussing this system based on my search attempts, basing the article's information almost entirely on what others may have heard or observed can result in unintentionally disseminating false information about the system if said anecdotes are revealed to be false. Additionally, based on my research on sites like Google Books, "Local Access Alert" does appear to be an official term for these warning systems, as that term returns no results on Google Books and I've seen terms like "cable override" and "emergency override system" be far more frequently used on archived documents there. I'll see about looking into getting the article renamed later on and try to figure out how to rewrite it to back up the text wherever possible. Local Access Alert → Emergency override system – Reviewing newspaper articles and other documents discussing these particular systems ([2], [3], [4]), Local Access Alert does not appear to have been an official name used for them, with "emergency override system" or "cable override" appearing to be the preferred terms. While I do need to find a reliable source for this claim, according to this YouTube comment, the Local Access Alert term is apparently only used by some Emergency Alert System encoders, and usage of these override systems predates the EAS. I don't have a lot to say on the actual name to be used. The links are a bit dickie to read and the nom acknowledges the limitations of evidence. Perhaps we should have such evidence before us upon starting the RM? I am neutral on which name to adopt. However, all of these similar terms are descriptive names and not "proper names" that should be capitalised. They may be capitalised in prose to distinguish the term but per MOS:SIGNIFCAPS we don't do that here. Cinderella157 (talk) 00:15, 16 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
